Working recipe
1.8 kg Pale Ale malt · 200 g Carahell · 9 L · Cascade 10 g at 60 min, 8 g at 15 min, 14 g at approximately 70°C after flameout · US-05 · OG 1.043
Jump to recipe & brew logThis is the second batch in the notebook, brewed on 27 September 2026.
The recipe keeps Cascade as the through-line from the first beer while adding Carahell and a more deliberate hop schedule. The record below reflects the brew as it was actually made; fermentation notes and the final result will be added when available.
Brew day
The batch was diluted to roughly 9 L or slightly above after the post-boil gravity was measured. The concentrated wort measured approximately 1.049–1.050 before dilution; the recorded batch OG is 1.043.

- No additional Protafloc, Clarity Ferm, or dry hop
Fermentation
- US-05, 6 g
- Intended fermentation temperature: approximately 20–22°C

Brew notes
The final hop addition went in closer to 70°C rather than the originally intended 80°C. Protafloc was also added accidentally at approximately 70°C after flameout rather than during the boil.
